(Founded on July 3rd, 1981)
On the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the Hungarian House in Ottawa, we cordially invite everyone to a festive dinner.
The dinner is followed by a unique one-person theatre show (in Hungarian) “C for Cyrano”, performed by Mihály Szabados, which he wrote and directed himself.
We would also like to draw the attention of our dear guests to the donation box placed in front of the bar, in which we are collecting donations to help the victims of the floods in Székelyföld.
We gratefully thank you for your generous contributions!
The Board of Directors of the OHCC will deliver the funds raised directly to families in need on behalf of the Ottawa community.

About the Theatre show
Mihály Szabados is well known from his starring roles in “We never die”, a film by festival mainstay and Silver Bear winner, Robert Koltai, and “Romani Kris,” winner of the Montréal First Film Prize at the 1997 Montreal World Film Festival. Mishi is coming to us from Toronto to present his solo show “C for Cyrano”, which he is directing and starring in. The play is based on the French author, Edmond Rostand’s classical drama. Cyrano is an epic character struggling with the battle between body and soul, and unrequited love in the throes of passion.
The piece explores the veritable battle for the love of Roxanne between Christian, the handsome, young soldier, and the lyrical Cyrano, whose grotesquely large nose condemns him to a life of unrequited love.
