The musical-poetic performance “Now, let the words play” is composed of the poetry of István Savanya. István and his wife Eszter selected the material of the one and a half hour performance from folk songs and István’s most successful poems.
The compilation presents drifting, varied, uplifting, thought-provoking, lighthearted or even deep moods about the colour palette of human life experiences, the path and belief lived from birth to death. These are spoken in poems, songs, and folk songs that resonate with the audience as a personal inner journey.
István and Eszter have been performing poems and songs for more than four decades in both Hungarian and English. They performed at prestigious festivals, as well as radio and television shows in Hungary, Transylvania and North America.
István was awarded the Ex Libris Prize in 2013 for his performance in contemporary poetry. István and Eszter were awarded with the Pro Arte Prize in 2017, and István was awarded with the Golden Cross of the Republic of Hungary in 2020.
Admission to the reception is free.
