Audience meeting and discussion with movie and theater artist Szabó Győző at the Hungarian Community Center in Ottawa.

There will be a reception after the talk.

Győző Szabó appeared in nearly 60 films and more than 30 theater plays, as well as numerous TV shows and wrote 2 books.
The movie “Toxikoma” directed by Gábor Herendi was based on one of his autobiographical books.
 

Győző Szabó is a Jászai Mari award-winning actor. He was born in Nyírbátor in 1970. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, but did not study acting. He got his first theater role from János Csányi, the director of the Bárka Theater. He is one of the founders of the “Tilos az Á” performance theater, a regular performer in art theaters, a member of the József Katona Theater since 1995, and a freelancer for four years since 2004.

Since 2008, he has been a guest artist at the Weöres Sándor Theater in Szombathely. He is the protagonist of many internationally recognized feature films and can be seen in musical productions from time to time. Since 2012, he has been an actor at the Thália Theater.
