Lajos Kossuth, now in his eighty-second year, began to have serious feelings for the nineteen-year-old Zeyk Sarolta from Transylvania. The girl spent a semester in Turin, where Lajos Kossuth lived in exile. After she returned home, they corresponded continuously. True to his promise, the hermit of Turin burned Napsugara’s letters, but she kept the letters she received from Lajos Kossuth. The author wrote the play using these letters.
