 get married to the butcher\, but the young lover of the lady from the neig
 hbouring convenience store seduces her during the engagement party. The ne
 w couple move\, and have a child. They cannot take care of their own newbo
 rn\, so they give the baby up for adoption by the young man's mother livin
 g in a village. The young mother becomes a dancer\, her father disinherits
  her\, while the lady next door tries to find happiness within the arms of
  a law student\, but later on she takes her old lover back. The baby dies.
  The butcher forgives her former fiancée\, so everything falls back in it
 s place. Just like in fairy tales.\n\nÖdön von Horváth takes us into th
